Abstract

The research with the title "Reception of Children Under the Age of 14 Against Dangdut Koplo Songs (Case Study in Bolon Village, Colomadu District, Karanganyar)" is a qualitative study. The subject of this study discusses the process of accepting or children reception for dangdut koplo music, which is based on aspects in it, such as message delivery media, easiness of early childhood in absorbing information, and interpreting the various outcomes of children's processes in receptive to dangdut koplo music. This study uses the thick description analysis method revealed by Soewarlan. The basic concept of communication as one direction proposed by Michael Burgoon, was used as the rationale in this study. This underlies the study to discuss the roles of the media conveying in the communication process, to provide information which will then be interpreted by the child. This view, changed by the concept of Santosa, the music communication, for a more applicable level. The second concept is the Literature Reception by Umar Junus (1985) which discusses the audience of the work by someone who starts on the responses or responses of the audience to it, which begins this thing called the reception. Based on the results of the research in this study, it can be concluded that the process of delivering dangdut koplo to children through (1) message delivery media, (2) facilitates absorbing information by early childhood, and (3) Regarding the acceptance or acceptance of children towards dangdut koplo music, judging from their responses or responses to dangdut koplo music, it is categorized as a response from positive reception and negative reception.
