Abstract

The student character building did by public service especially dance art. Mahakarya Borobudur is means for student character building at Vocational High School Santo Paulus Surakarta. It uses asah, asih, and asuh approachs. Asah means improving imagination skill; asih means love each others; and asuh is based on guiding, remembering, and caring for each others. The rhyme in Gendhing Ilir-Ilir contains the meaning about student character building. The dance movement oriented toward rhyme of its accompanied music. Some of dance movements are arranged following the spirit of song. Several elements such as harmony, relationship, and giving each others are representation of love.
