Abstract

The Jasmine Flower (Jasminum sambac) is a species of Jasmine native to South Asia in India, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. In Indonesia, jasmine flowers are a type of flower that is one of the "Puspa Bangsa" or can be called a national symbol flower, namely red and white. Jasmine flowers symbolize purity and purity, beauty, in simplicity and humility and become an indispensable part of various traditional ceremonies in many regions in Indonesia. Jasmine flowers have a small shape when they bloom, but Jasmine flowers have a scent that is as fragrant as other flowers do not have. This uniqueness makes the author want to visualize Jasmine flowers into casual clothes with a touch of batik. The purpose of making casual clothes with the source of the jasmine flower idea is to be able to create Jasmine flower designs to batik motifs, be able to apply Jasmine flower batik motifs in casual clothes, and can realize batik motifs in casual clothes with the source of Jasmine flower ideas. The creation of this work was carried out using the three-stage and six-step method of workmanship. The three stages, namely the exploration stage, the design stage, and the embodiment stage. In the process of making the design of the Melati flower batik motif, it begins with the observation of Jasmine flowers from the flowers, buds, stalks, and leaves. Sketching casual fashion by looking for references to casual fashion forms on the internet and books. Then an alternative sketch that has been created, selected and refined according to the creative ideas of the author. The process and results of making this final project work have three achievements, the first is to be able to create batik motifs with the source of jasmine flower ideas. The second achievement is being able to design casual clothes with the application of Jasmine flower batik motifs. The third achievement is to be able to realize casual fashion design work with the application of jasmine flower batik motifs. The result of this women's casual fashion work is in the form of 4 (four) casual clothes with Jasmine flower batik motifs with the title of Camouflage, News Caster, Spy, and Sneaker works.
