Pamardi to meet the entertainment needs of the community.  Ganjur Ganjret dance does not raise standard themes as well as Surakarta-style  traditional dance. So that the sense of humor displayed, is carried out through the  attraction of motion, rhythm, makeup, and character play. The method in this study  uses Ethnographic methods with six stages. The stages in question are; The first stage  of observation to describe the object under study, the second "laboratory study", the  third explanation of dance styles and their varieties, the fourth examines dance  presentations both in the form of videos and images, the fifth analyzes the text, and  context, the sixth makes synthesis, and the last stage is to make conclusions. In addition,  it is also supported by the concept of Solah ebrah (Slamet) which is in accordance with  Ann Hutchinson's effort-shape theory. As for discussing the physiognomy concept of  mimic and expressive gestures, using the concept of Desmon Morris. The results of this  study show that the sense of humor is done by imitating daily events, and the context in  which Ganjur Ganjret Dance is presented. The structure of Ganjur Ganjret dance even  though the movements have been arranged by default, there are many opportunities  for improvisation to respond to the atmosphere of the audience so that the sense of  humor that accompanies Ganjur-Ganjret dance is always actual, it is expected to be a  reference for dance research, and complement the scientific study of dance    Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang teks dan konteks dalam sajian tari Ganjur  Ganjret, yang merupakan salah saru bentuk tari Humor di Surakarta. Tari Ganjur  Ganjret disusun pada tahun 1981 oleh Dwi Wahyudiarto, dan S. Pamardi untuk  memenuhi kebutuhan hiburan masyarakat. Tari Ganjur Ganjret tidak mengangkat  tema-tema baku seperti halnya tari tradisi gaya Surakarta. Sehingga rasa humor yang  ditampilkan, dilakukan melalui atraksi gerak, irama, rias busana dan permainan  karakter. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Etnografi dengan enam  tahapan. Tahapan dimaksud adalah; tahap pertama pengamatan guna mendiskripsikan  obyek yang diteliti, ke-dua "laboratory study", ke-tiga penjelasan atas gaya tari dan  ragamnya, ke-empat pencermati sajian tari baik dalam bentuk video maupun gambar,  ke-lima menganalisis teks, dan konteks, ke-enam membuat sistesis, dan tahap terakhir  adalah membuat kesimpulan. Selain itu juga ditunjang dengan konsep Solah ebrah  (Slamet) yang sesuai dengan teori effort-shape Ann Hutchinson. Sedangkan untuk  membahas konsep fisiognomi dari mimic dan expressive gestures, menggunakan  konsep Desmon Morris. Hasil dari penelitiana ini menunjukkan bahwa rasa humor  dilakukan dengan mengimitasi peristiwa sehari-hari, dan konteks dimana Tari Ganjur  Ganjret disajikan. Struktur tari Ganjur Ganjret walaupun geraknya sudah di tata secara  baku, tetapi banyak peluang improvisasi untuk merespon suasana penonton, sehingga  rasa humor yang menyertai tari Ganjur-Ganjret selalu aktual diharapkan dapat sebagai  acuan penelitian tari, dan melengkapi kajian ilmiah tari
