Konten dari LL memuat fungsi informatif dan fungsi simbolis mengenai suatu isu menarik yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai authentic material. Berkaitan dengan hal ini, penerapan LL dapat memfasilitasi siswa dengan pengalaman yang menarik, kontekstual, dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, hubungan langsung antara bahasa di kelas dan dunia luar dapat diperkuat untuk siswa dengan penggunaan materi autentik dan media. Urgensi ini didukung dengan penemuan dari beberapa penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa penerapan LL dalam kelas dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan siswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan LL yang dapat ditemukan di interior sekolah dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di jenjang sekolah menengah atas. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi persepi guru mengenai penerapan LL dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris melalui wawancara mendalam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif. Setelah pengumpulan data, hasil data penelitian dianalisis dalam tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.
