Abstract
Gondang Oguong is an ethnic musical ensemble of people in the Limo Koto customary area, Kampar Regency. Until now, the art of Gondang Oguong is still being passed on to the next generation. This study aims to reveal and explain the transmission process of Gondang Oguong by artist Salman Azis, including objects, actors, and transmission mechanisms, using ethnographic methods. Transmission is one of the important aspects of cultural inheritance related to enculturation, internalization, education, and socialization activities. Therefore, this research is expected to participate in supporting the sustainable practices of ethnic music as part of the culture
