Abstract

This undergraduate thesis of art works trying to present and analyze the story of Abimanyu, which in this case is contained in the play "Bagyasmara" with a romance conflict between Abimanyu, Siti Sundari and Utari. The two problems raised in this art paper are (1) what is Abimanyu's background when he has to find another wife for the throne heir to Pandhawa. (2) How is the strength and sincerity of Siti Sundari's love for Abhimanyu who knows that it turns out that Abimanyu loves Utari. These two problems are examined based on the principles stated in the concept of working on cords, chess, and sabet with a compact pakeliran wrapped. The research data was collected through literature studies, observations, and interviews with a number of practitioners and puppetry artists. The results showed that the story of Abimanyu in the play "Bagyasmara" had a different form and type of background. Abimanyu wanted to remarry was his condition, which until then had no descendants and confusion when he found out that Siti Sundari could not give her offspring. Siti Sundari's love power to Abhimanyu was enormous, even though she knew that it turned out that she was hurt by Abhimanyu, but did not cover her loyalty and love for Abhimanyu, so finally Siti Sundari also applied for Utari to be aborted by Abimanyu.
